The probability of drawing an ace from a standard deck of cards.

There are 52 cards in the deck (after discarding Jokers) and there are 4 aces.

So: 4 out of 52 makes the probability 1 in 13 (one in thirteen).

The answer depends on how many cards you draw, if you replace them after drawing and whether or not they are randomly selected from the deck.

The probability, if only one card is drawn randomly, is 1/52.

statistically it's 1 in 13 if you draw 1 card, your odds improve if the first card is not an ace to 4 in 51 for the second card to be an ace, your odds improve each draw by a factor of 1 divided by the number of cards drawn.

Formula: 4(n!) / 52+51+50+49+.....+(52-n+1) where n is the number of cards drawn

if 6 cards are drawn then the odds of drawing an ace are:

4 x( 6 x 5x 4x3x2x1 )/ 52+51+50+49x+48+47 = 9.69 to 1 in 6 draws

If at any time you draw an ace then the odds of drawing the next ace drop by 25%, third by 50% and 4th by 75%

If order is important (you have to draw an ace and then a jack), probability is 4/52*4/51 ~= .0060 = .60%

If order is not important, probability is twice that: .0121 = 1.21%

It depends on what order they're in!

52 cards in a deck 4 are aces -

1 in 13 cards is an ace.
