To find the x intercept, you have to get 'y' by itself by putting it into slope intercept form(y=mx+b, where m is the slope, and b is the x intercept). First, write out the equation:

5x-4y=-20

To start off, you have to get -20 to the other side of the equation. Do this by doing its opposite, so add 20 to other side of the equation. You now have: 5x-4y+20=0. Add 4x, so the -4x on the left will cancel out, and now you have positive 4x on the right. Your equation should look like this: 5x+20=4y. As i said earlier, the objective is to get y by itself. You have to do the opposite of multiplication to get the 4 away, so divide everything by 4 (5/4, 20/4 and 4/4). This should leave you with y=5/4x+5. Therefore, the x intercept is 5. Sorry this was kinda long but i hope i helped !
