There is no property of multiplication that transposes numbers.
The "exponent" tells you how many times the same number, that is multiplied by itself, appears in the multiplication. In this case, just count how many times the number "1" appears.

I am not quite sure what you meant, but for multiplication just use one number and add it as many times as the other number tells you. for example 12*5 is 12+12+12+12+12 which equals 60. I am not quite sure if this helps or not.
