The guy above me is an idiot. 49/70 is 68% obviously since 49 out of 70 is over half. ( Takes a lot of balls to call someone an idiot and then get the answer wrong your self... Check your work)
What a sad state of affairs the American youth have become. 49/70 expressed as a decimal or percentage is simply a division problem. That is what a fraction actually is stating when written. Numerator (Top or First) divided by the Denominator (bottom or second). the fraction 49/70 should be read as a function as 49 divided by 70. The correct answer to this is .70 Since the word or nomenclature "Percent" actually means : per 100 or within 100 we would read the answer of .70 as 70%. How in the world the figures of 68 and 34.3 were achieved is beyond me but neither is correct. the correct function flow is as follows. Fraction x/y = x divided by y. regardless of how many terms there are in the answer the first two are the ones that determine the Percentage or the per 100. example: the number .02375 would be expressed as 2.375% as the percentage requested of the number (per 100). 50/100 would be 50 divided by 100 or .50 (fifty hundredths) this would be expressed as 50% or half. Not difficult if you take the time to understand the basic math and its related functions. I agree! Proof- 70 x .7(70 percent) equals 49 at least last time I checked! Maybe they are teaching a new kinda math these days! Children from Japan China and 15 to 20 other countries are laughing at this poor kid!!!! Our tax dollars once again being spent wisely!!!!!!!
