The Gurkha impressed the United Kingdom when they declared war on the British East India Company. Both sides ended up locked in a stalemate during the war. The Gurkha were the first "weak" nation to stand up against the British Empire and not end up decimated by the advanced British weaponry. Impressed, the British incorporated the Gurkha into the British Empire as a Protectorate Nation. The Gurkha still fight for the United Kingdom in the official British Army today.

There are also British Commonwealth countries, such as Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

British Commonwealth countries are not ruled by the British government, but they accept the British Monarch as their own Monarch.

This is why British Commonwealth countries have a Prime Minister rather than a President, despite not having their own Royal Family.
