The 1996 Summer Olympics were held in Atlanta, Georgia. Atlanta was the fifth American City to host the Olympic Games.
They moved from Milwaukee to Atlanta and became known as the Atlanta Braves before the 1966 season.
American Cancer Society was founded. Income tax was first collected by the U.S. Government. Canberra became the capital of Australia. Rockefeller Foundation founded with initial donation of 100 Million dollars from John T. Rockefeller. Maurice J. Lee was born.
The primary ones were Puerto Rico and the Philippines. Guam and Cuba were also involved. Spain gave up control of Cuba as a result. And sold all rights to the other three for $20 million dollars.
The Atlanta Flames moved from Atlanta Georgia to Calgary and became the Calgary Flames in 1980
