There is no sensible answer. A regular polygon with n sides has n lines of symmetry, and n can be increased without limit. However, as n approaches infinity, the polygon approaches a circle and a circle is not a polygon.

Will the number of lines of symmetry for a polygon always be the same as the number of vertices?

No, a polygon can have fewer lines of symmetry.

What do you call a polygon with no lines of symmetry?

an irregular polygon

Which polygon has less then 4 lines of symmetry?

A triangle has 3 lines of symmetry.

How many lines of symmetry does a 15-sided polygon have?

A 15 sided polygon has 15 lines of symmetry;) Thanks for asking:)

What is the rule for the number lines of symmetry of any regular polygon?

Number of lines of symmetry = Number of sides of the regular polygon

How many lines of symmetry would a 10-sided regular polygon have?

10 lines. Regular polygon of "x" sides has "x" Lines of Symmetry

What is a figure with no symmetry lines?

a polygon

Which regular polygon has 4 lines of symmetry?

A square has four lines of symmetry!

How many lines of symmetry does a polygon has?

A polygon need not have any lines of symmetry. The maximum number of lines of symmetry is attained if the polygon is regular; and this is the number of sides (or vertices) of the polygon. If a regular polygon has an even number of sides, then the lines of symmetry are those joining opposite vertices, and those joining the mid-points of opposite sides. If the polygon has an odd number of sides/vertices, the lines of symmetry are those joining each vertex to the mid-point of the opposite side.

What is the greatest number of lines of symmetry a polygon with 14 sides can have?

A polygon with 14 sides can have at most 14 lines of symmetry. This would occur if the polygon was a regular polygon (i.e. all its sides would have to be equal and all its angles would have to be equal). The lines of symmetry would run between the midpoints of opposite sides and between opposite vertices.

How many lines of symmetry does a eleven sided polygon have?

A regular Undegon (11 sided polygon) has 11 lines of symmetry. It also has an order of rotation symmetry of 11.

Do polygons have to have one line of symmetry?

The number of lines of symmetry in a polygon corresponds to the number of sides it has. If a polygon has n sides, then its symmetry will be n lines of symmetry and it will have one point of symmetry. A pentagon has five lines of symmetry, nonagon has 9, n-gon has n lines of symmetry, so on and so forth.
