No the SAT is not much harder than the PSAT. In fact, they are supposed to be on the same level of difficulty. What really helped me prepare for both the SAT and PSAT was the Princeton review guide, along with the tutorfox new sat guide.

In order to gain admission to Binghamton University, you need at least a B plus average, an ACT composite score of at least 26 and an SAT score of 1800. Only about half of the applicants get in.

There are no minimum requirements. However, Binghamton University is extremely competitive. From their Website, they report that the middle 50% of applicants have between a 1200 and 1380 (math and verbal). 25% of their class has below a 1200, and 25% has above a 1380. 75% of Binghamton's admitted students have above a 1200. Binghamton's average SAT (math and verbal combined) is 1290-1300.
