The fewer the number of sides that a polygon has, the higher the surface area to volume ratio. This increases until the polygon has an infinite number of sides, or has become a perfect sphere, when the ratio is the smallest.

Which geometric shape has the highest surface area to volume ratio?

Answer: There doesn't appear to be a single best answer to this type of question. But if we're proposing simple shapes as answers, then a proportionally very thin film (like a sheet of paper) seems serve adequately. From what I have seen and gather, shapes with long length and width and a short depth would have a bigger surface area compared to its volume. in addition, shapes like cubes and spheres will have a greater volume for their surface area.

Is the total area the same as the surface area?

Yes.Conventionally, total area is usually used for the area of a complicated 2-dimensional shape where the area of smaller shapes are calculated and added together. The surface area usually refers to a 3-dimensional object for which the areas of the faces are calculated and added together.Yes.Conventionally, total area is usually used for the area of a complicated 2-dimensional shape where the area of smaller shapes are calculated and added together. How do you find the surface area of 3-d composite figure?

There are different formulae for different shapes and these vary in complexity.

What shape has the smallest area?

circle has the smallest area

What is the surface area of a 2L bottle?

It depends on the shape of the bottle. There are an infinite number of shapes, all with different dimensions and different surface areas, that could all hold 2 L.

Which is a 3d shape?

That will depend on what they are but in general 3D shapes have surface area and volume whereas 2D shapes have only surface area.

How does surface area differ from the area?

Area is for two-dimensional shapes, like rectangles or squares, and surface area is for three-dimensional shapes, like pyramids and cylinders.

What does the term surface area mean in math?

The surface area is the sum of all the shapes' area

A cone of height 24cm has a curved surface area of 550cm sq find it's volumn?

V = 1,232 cm3

What is the definition of surface area?

The surface area is the sum of all the areas of all the shapes that cover the surface of the object.

What is the smallest area on the surface of the earth that can be scanned as a single pixel?

The smallest area on the surface of earth that can be scanned as a single pixel is one meter.

What dou you mean by 3d math shapes?

3 dimensional objects have volume and surface area whereas 2 dimensional shapes have only surface area

What is the smallest possible surface area of a right prism with a volume of 200 cm3?

Assuming you mean a rectangular prism, you get the smallest surface area if the prism is a cube. You can calculate the required length of side to get that volume; then, based on that, the corresponding surface area.

What is the smallest area on the surface of earth that can be scanned as a single pixel?

The smallest area on the surface of earth that can be scanned as a single pixel is one meter.

How is 2d related with 3d?

Not too sure of the question but 2 dimensional shapes have only surface area whereas 3 dimensional shapes have surface area and volume

What geometric objects occupies two deminsions?

Two dimensional shapes have only surface area such as polygons whereas three dimensional shapes have surface area and volume such as polyhedrons.
