Religion was very different across the colonies. Most New Englanders were Puritans who attended church in the Meetinghouse, which is similar to a 'Town Hall' and was used for other public events as well. The middle and southern colonists were a mix of religions, including Quakers, Jews, Catholics, Baptists and Anglicans.
Most school aged children received some formal education be it through public, private or home schooling, much like today. Children were also taught a trade and usually followed the family business.
Agriculturally, the New Englanders did not fare so well and largely farmed fish as inland crops often died or where killed off by the harsher conditions. Middle colonies farmed mostly grains and the Southern Colonies most popular crop was Tobacco.
