2 + (7a - 7) > 13 + 6a

Now use algebra to solve for "a"

7a-7 > 11+6a

a>18

So the number you refer to in your question has to be bigger than 18. Lets plug in a number bigger than 18 and less then 18 and also just 18

Plug 19 in

2 + (7(19) - 7) > 13 + 6(19) Work this out and you get...

128 > 127 This is Correct! 128 is bigger than 127

Plug 17 in

2 + (7(17) - 7) > 13 + 6(17) Work this out and you get...

114 > 115 This is Wrong! Because I did not choose a number greater than 18 the answer we get for a=17 is wrong because 114 is not bigger than 115

Plug in 18

2 + (7(18) - 7) > 13 + 6(18) Work this out and you get...

121 > 121 This is Wrong! Because I chose 18 the numbers are = to each other and not greater than.
