Ideally, nothing should ever be over 100%. If it were to be a trick question, the only time something could be more than 100% is when you considered one thing, say x, to be 100% but then you had more than one. So, if you had x and x you would have 200% or if you had x and 1/2x you would have 150%.

The word 'percent' is from Latin (centum) and means 'over one hundred'.

e.g.

3/100 = 3%
