Yes.

Calculate the ratio of

the difference in y-coordinates and

the difference in x-coordinates between pairs of points.

If the ratio is the same, the points are collinear. If not, they are not.

The only exception is if all the x-coordinates are he same and the ratio is not defined. In this case the points are also collinear - all on a vertical line.

Is D e and H collinear?

You need a diagram to tell. Remember, collinear means in a line. If D,e, and H can all be connected by a straight line, then yes, they are collinear.

How can you tell that the line segment connnecting the points is vertical without graphing the points?

The equation does not have and y variable in it: it is of the form x = c. Alternatively, the x coordinates of both points are the same and the y coordinates are not.

How can you tell if two vectors are collinear?

If one vector is a multiple of the other vector than they are collinear).Let n equal any natural number (1, 2, 3, 4, ...) and vequal a vector with both amagnitudeand a direction.vn = nv (e.g., v3 = 3v)Vn will always be collinear to v, because it is just a multiple of v (the multiple being n)To verify if two vectors are collinear, if you can factor out a multiple, to return to theoriginalvector, than they are collinear.

What does the discriminant tell you about the graph?

Whether the graph has 0, 1 or 2 points at which it crosses (touches) the x-axis.

How do you figure out the equation of a table with a graphic calculator?

It depends on which calculator! If the data is linear, you can estimate the slope of the line and the y-intercept from graphing the data. By graphing the data, you will be able to tell if it forms a straight line or not.

How can you tell whether a polygon is a convex?

A polygon (or any other plane shape) is convex if you take any two points inside it (or on its boundary) then the line joining those points is wholly inside (or on the boundary of) the polygon.

What does slope tell you about inches and centimeters?

Nothing. Slope is a measure used in graphing and algebra. Feet and inches are units of linear measurement.
