There are no such consecutive integer as is so simple to prove!

Suppose the first integer is x. Then the next (consecutive) integer is x+1.

Then 2*x + 4*(x+1) = 30

So that 2x + 4x + 4 = 30

6x + 4 = 30

6x = 30 - 4 = 26

x = 26/6 which is NOT an integer.

What are two consecutive integers whose sum is 55?

The easiest way to do this is to use 'n' as one integer. Now, the next one needs to be consecutive, so we can make the second integer 'n+1' n + (n+1) = 55 Now all we do is start simplifying 2n + 1 = 55 2n = 55 -1 2n = 54 n = 27 Since n = 27, the first integer will be 27. And we stated that the second is 'n+1', so the second would be 28. Double check, 27 + 28 = 55 So, our integers are 27 and 28.

What if you double a triangular number?

You get a sequence of doubled triangular numbers. This sequence can also be represented by Un = n*(n + 1), [products of pairs of consecutive integers]

What do you mean by long integer and double integer?

Different computer languages use different amounts of memory to store integers. For example, C++ uses a minimum of 4 bytes, Java a min of 8 bytes. A long integer is one which is requires more bytes than the standard amount. When the storage requirement gets to twice the standard amount, the number becomes a double integer.

How do you find two consecutive odd integers?

I'm not understanding the question. Two consecutive odd numbers will be of the form x and x+2. So simply pick the first one (hopefully you know what "odd" means and don't inadvertently pick an even number; if you're worried about this, then pick any integer at random, double it, and add one, the result is guaranteed to be odd) and add two to get the next odd number.
