The serial number is located on the receiver under the breech-end of the barrels, and it should also be on the iron for the forestock. I know this because I just had one bro-ught in for a repair, and that is where it is located on this one. THE BLACK HAWK.

The numbers 308 are not the model number.That is the caliber.Include the model and serial number so we can answer why the letter A appears in the front of the serial number.
A 335 may have the model number on the bottom metal just ahead of the trigger guard, at least mine does. The lettering is very small, shallow, and hard to read. Mine says "MODEL 335".
