Hi, I'm not sure if this helps but I'm having a similar problem with my 1996, here's what I've found so far:- the wires i have are bk/bl (ground) and a green/brn these appear to have the 12 volts for the heater.the two others i have are light brown/white (your tan?) and black/whitethe black/white appears to be the ground return and the light brown/white is my sensor signal wire.these are the colors on the downstream sensor plug.I'll know for sure in a couple of days if this is correct, but I've checked the obd codesand nothing is registered so I'm fairly confident that I've got it right.hope it gives you some idea, use a multimeter to identify your 12volt heater feed wire and the ground wire.Gaz.
