Europeans came to America by boat. The first Europeans came to America in 1492 as part of the New World exploration with Columbus. In 1815 about 30 million Europeans came again by boat to settle in America permanently.
Quite by accident: Columbus, for example, thought he had found the Spice Islands of Asia....
The Europeans were looking for MONEY, POWER, and GLORY. Finding new land would make them rich and if they claimed the land first they would have control over everyone. :) your welcome !!
