In the past, it used to be listed as a Prime number; more recently, it isn't. The number one has a special role as the identity element of multiplication. One problem if it were defined as a prime number is that the prime factors of a number would no longer be unique. For example, 6 = 2 x 3 = 2 x 3 x 1 = 2 x 3 x 1 x 1 etc. There are several additional arguments, both for and against considering one a prime number, but most modern mathematicians seem to consider it more consistent NOT to consider one a prime number.
