By definition a rectangle is a four-sided figure whose opposite sides are equal in length and corners are right angles. The definition doesn't say anything about the lengths of adjacent sides, though.

A square has the same definition as a rectangle with the added criterion that adjacent sides are also equal in length. That means a square is a more-specific type of rectangle.

All squares are rectangles true or false?

True. All squares are rectangles, but not all rectangles are squares.

Why are rectangles squares?

Rectangles are not squares. The reason to this is because squares must have sides of equal lengths. Rectangles are quadrilaterals with sides that join to make 90 degree angles, but are not restricted to having the same length. Therefore "all squares are rectangles", but rectangles cannot be squares.

Why are some rectangles not squares?

squares are rectangles because they are both four sided but rectangles are not squares because a rectangle doesn't have equal sides and squares have equal sides

Why can all squares be classified as parallelograms but not all parallelograms can be classified as squares?

A parallelogram is a four-sided figure with opposite sides parallel. Squares and rectangles are two examples of parallelograms. A square is a four-sided figure that has four equal sides, and opposite sides are parallel.

Are rectangles always squares?

No. Although squares are always rectangles, rectangles are not always squares. A square has four sides of equal length and four right angles. Rectangles must only have four right angles.
