Because the 3 interior angles of any triangle always add up to 180 degrees.

And so it follows that 2 obtuse angles would add up to over 180 degrees.

An obtuse angle is greater than 90 degrees; a triangle only has 180 degrees in all three angles (inside angles). two obtuse angles exceed 180 degrees.

What type of angle does an obtuse triangle have?

An obtuse triangle is a triangle in which one of the angles measures more than 90o

How many obtuse angles are in an obtuse triangle?

No triangle can have more than one obtuse angle. If it has one, then it's an obtuse triangle.

How many obtuse dose a triangle have?

A triangle can have either zero or one obtuse angles, but no more than that. An obtuse angle is one that is greater than 90 degrees. The interior angles of a triangle always add up to 180.

Can an obtuse triangle be a scalene triangle?

Yes, because as long as one of the triangle's angles are more than 90 degrees and the other 2 are different, it is obtuse and scalene. For example, since all triangle's angles add up to 180 degrees, if a triangle had the angles: 100,30, and 50, it would be obtuse and scalene.

Can you have a triangle with acute right and obtuse angles on it?

No. "Obtuse" means more than 90 degrees. "Obtuse" plus a right angle = more than 180 degrees. But the triangle has exactly 180 degrees in its 3 angles. So the same triangle can't have a right angleand an obtuse angle in it.

Does a triangle have 2 obtuse angles?

Some have one obtuse interior angle, others have none. A triangle can have no more than one obtuse angle.

What triangle has at least one obtuse angle?

-- If a triangle has an obtuse angle in it, then it's called an obtuse triangle. -- No triangle can have more than one obtuse angle in it . -- Right triangles, acute triangles, and equilateral triangles don't have any obtuse angles in them.

Does an obtuse triangle have only one obtuse angle?

Yes. All of a triangle's angles add up to 180 degrees, so if obtuse angles are over 90 degrees it is impossible to have more than one.

Why does an obtuse triangle have one obtuse angle?

Because the measure of 2 obtuse angles would be over 180 degrees and the measure of the 3 interior angles of a triangle must not be more than 180 degrees.

Can a triangle have 1 or more obtuse angles?

NO!! The question is: Can a triangle have one OR more obtuse angles? A triangle can have one obtuse angle, the other two must be acute in order to close the shape. An obtuse angle is greater than 90 degrees and to make a sum of the 180 degrees in a triangle, the sum of the other two must equal <90 degrees. Since the question asked ...one or more... and one of the two options is correct, the answer must be: Yes, it is possible to have one OR more obtuse angles in a triangle.

Is a right triangle an obtuse angle?

Certainly not, if you measure a right angled triangle the it comes to 90 degrees you only get an obtuse angle if you have OVER 90 degrees.

Why can there only be one obtuse angle in a triangle?

Sum of angles of triangle = 180o: minimum size of obtuse angle is greater than 90o; It is not possible to have two angles of a triangle which total more than 180o.
