When rounding, when you add a 1 to 9 the answer is 10.The 0 is put in the place you are rounding to and the 1 is added to the digit to the left of it.

For example,

20.96 rounded to the nearest tenth is 21.0

107.899 rounded to the nearest hundredth is 107.90
