Use a T chart

If y is 3 then x is -3 graph it according to quadrants. 1 being in the top right corner, 2 in the top left corner, 3 in the bottom left corner, and 4 in the bottom right corner. X-- go to the left 3 (or whatever number you'd like to put in for x) then go up 3 (or whatever number you'd like to put in for y) your point should be in quadrant 2

That is a straight line emanating from the origin in both direction.

X = 1 and Y = 1

X = 2 and Y = 2

X = -1 and Y = -1

X = -2 and Y = -2

as you can see you have a line splinting the first and third quadrants with a perfectly equal diagonal; to infinity

Using the property of equality, you simplify it to y=x, which is pretty straightforward. When y=1, x=1. When y=2, x=2. When y=3 xe3. and so on. Then u connect the points, and voila
