No. A parallelogram by definition is a quadrilateral that has two pairs of parallel sides. A square by definition is a parallelogram with 4 congruent sides and angles (each measuring 90 degrees). So there are more finite requirements that must be fulfilled for a shape to be a square. A parallelogram doesn't have to be a square--it could be a rectangle, for instance. Or, it could be just a parallelogram--nothing more. However, a square isalways a parallelogram. :)

Yes. But not all parallelograms are squares.

All squares are also rectangles (and all rectangles are parallelograms), but not all rectangles are squares.

"parallelogram" just means both pairs of sides are parallel (and rectangle just means all the angles are right). Yes, since they all have a pair of sides that are parallel, they are all parallelograms. Parallelograms are squares only if all four sides are of the same length and all interior angles are 90o.

False. All rhombuses are parallelograms, so all rhombuses have 2 pairs of parallel sides.

NO! rectangles are also parallelograms and i think rhombus are too. a parallelogram is any shape where both sets of opposing sides are parallel.

All squares are parallelograms

Can a parallelogram be a rectangle and a square?

the three special quadrilaterals that can be a parallelogram are a rectangle, a square, and a rhombus Actually, this is incorrect. All squares are rectangles. All rectangles are parallelograms. Therefore all squares are parallelograms. But not all parallelograms are rectangles. And not all rectangles are squares.

How a parallelogram is a square?

Parallelogram is not a squareAnswerBy definition, all squares are parallelograms because opposing sides of any square are parallel to each other. However, not all parallelograms are square because their sides are not always an equal length, nor are the angles of any two adjacent sides always 90 degrees. Therefore, all squares are parallelograms, but not all parallelograms are squares.

What are the names of all the parallelograms?

Rhombus, square, and rectangle.
