In the US, a trapezium is known as a trapezoid. Elsewhere a trapezium keeps it's name. A trapezium and/or trapezoid is a quadrilateral with a pair of parallel sides and a pair of nonparallel sides. Any quadrilateral consists of 4 sides, meaning that a trapezium also has 4 sides.
