I make Video Games myself. It starts with planning. You plan the game you want to make and name it. Afterwards you or someone in a team designs the art. Finally the programming. There are several hundred languages. These programming languages tell the computer what to do. For example, you can check when someone presses spacebar, and when they do the player jumps. It's much more complicated and time-consuming than that though. It can take from a week, to a month, to even several years.
