A factor tree is an aid to find the prime factors of a number. See link below. The prime factors of 60 are 2, 2, 3 and 5.

60
4 x 15
(2x2) x (3x5)

Alternate tree:
60
12 x 5
(3x4) x 5
(3 x (2x2)) x 5
Note: Once you have reached a Prime number, you typically do not continue to repeat it in the next line of the tree, but I carried them down to the next line to help with spacing and show the final result of prime factors.

Alternate tree:
60
30 x 2
(15x2) x 2
((5x3) x 2) x 2
