no, it may damage the appliance.

1Can_12V_2A_adapter_be_used_for_12V_1A_device, 2a adapter cannot be used for 12v, 1a device if the so mentioned parameters are input parameters of the device.

Yes, a 12 volt 2 amp adapter has more that enough capacity to operate a 12 volt 1 amp device. In fact the adapter can operate devices up to a limit of 12 volts 2 amps. A device larger than 2 amps connected will tend to heat the adapter up and eventually cause it to fail.

Probably not if the device really requires 2 amps to operate. There is a slim chance that the device actually runs at a lower current, but you would have to measure the current to be sure. If you tried this you would likely overheat the adapter and likely burn it out.

2 amps represents the maximum current capacity of the adapter. It is capable of carrying any current from near zero up to 2 amps.

Can you use a 12v dc 1a power supply on device that requires 12v dc 3200ma?

No, 3200 ma = 3.2 amps

Can a 12v dc 500mA adapter be substituted for a 12v dc 200mA ac adapter?

No.If it is AC output, it will blow out the power circuits of the DC device. If it is DC output, it doesn't have enough current capacity for the load of the DC device. If you want to power a DC device with a wall wart, make sure the wart is:DC outputCorrect polarity (some have reversible polarity)Exact same voltage as the deviceGreater than or equal to current rating of the device

Can you use a 12V 300mA on a device that require 12V 1.0A?

You might be able to, but you probably *shouldn't*. 1 amp is equal to 1000 mA. The device requiring 1.0A is listing the maximum amount of amps that the device will need from it's power supply. If it only delivers 300 mA, there's a chance it may still run, but it could exceed the current needed to run the device (which could shorten it's life, or burn it out immediately in the worst case scenario). I currently am using a 12v 500mA supply with a light-based device requiring 12v 1A, and while it does work, the source device (an adapter) gets extremely hot and could be a fire hazard. Stick with the recommended matching specs, or if you can't match, even 12V2.0A would be safer and preferred.

How many watts is 1 VDC?

As watts equals volts times amps (ohms law simplified) you are missing part of the equation.. Let's say you are asking about how many watts is 1 amps at 12v then... If W = V x A then 1A at 12v = 12 watts

Can you use a 12v dc 500mA powerpack on a device that required a 12v dc 1A?

By power pack, I'm assuming that you mean transformer or power adapter? It's not recommended. One of three things may occur -1) The powered device will fail due to undercurrent from the transformer.2) The transformer will fail due to the connected device attempting to draw too much current.3) The transformer will overheat, melting its housing and possibly starting a fire from nearby combustible materials (including the housing and wire insulation).I would tell you that you should go to your nearest Wal-Mart, Target, Radio Shack, or another retailer that sells power adapters, and purchase one with enough power for your application. (Hint - you can always go a little over on current and be safe, though the transformer won't be as efficient.)

Can you replace 12v 1a adaptor used on device of 12v 700ma?

No, the new adapter will not be able to safely supply enough current.

Can 9V 1A adapter be used for 12V 1A speakers?

No. If it works at all, it will be underpowered, and possibly damage the speakers. To power 12V speakers, you have to have an adapter with EXACTLY 12V (no more, no less), and at least 1A. You could hook up a 12V 4A adapter if you wanted to, your speakers would just only draw 1A of power. Make sure you use a 12V adapter though!!

Can I use 12V 1A adapter for a 12V 0.16A device?

I wouldn't recommend it ! If the device needs to draw more current than is available - the adapter could overheat, posing a fire risk.

No, 3200 ma = 3.2 amps

Can you use a 12 VDC 2A adaptor on a 12 VDC 1A device?

Yes, there will be no problem with this adapter. The 1 amp device will only be drawing half of what the adapter can produce.

Can you use a 1A adapter instead of a 500mA adapter?

A one amp adapter is the same as a 1000 mA adapter. If your device requires 500 mA to operate then there is ample capacity in the adapter to operate a 500 mA device. Be sure to match the type of voltage AC or DC from the adapter to the driven device. Both have to be the same.

Is it ok to use a 5v 1A AC adapter for a device when the original adapter is supposed to be 5V 500mA - will it damage the device?

Yes - what matters is the voltage - it has to be the same. The device will only draws 1A as needed - the adaptor with higher amp,i.e, 2A is fine. As long as the adaptor has amps equal to or greater than those of the device, it will be ok!

Can you use a 12v dc 1A powerpack on a device that required a 12 dc 700mA?

Yes, the device will only use whatever amps it needs.

Yes, 1 amp is equal to 1000ma and it will be able to operate a 850 ma device.

Can you use a adapter 15VDC 1A to replace adpater 15VDC 200mA. will it fry my device?

No it will not harm the plug in device. The 1 amp relates to 1000 mA or in other words it has five time the capacity as the 200 mA adapter.

What is the device called that changes voltage in DC IE 12v 1A to 5v 2A?

If it were just 12V to 5V we would be talking about a simple regulator. Since we are also talking about 1A to 2A, we are talking about some kind of inverter, perhaps a pulse width modulated power converter.
