That completely depends on how much each bottle holds.

We buy our Ginger Ale in 2-liter bottles. In that case, the answer is: 1 bottle.

Note:

If you get your bottled water in the handy 16.9-ounce size, that particular weird number

came from 1/2 liter, and it's surprisingly close to equal. So for 16.9-ounce bottles only,

4 bottles make 2 liters.
