The coco de mer, or "nut of the sea" produced by giant palm trees found on only two of the Seychelles Islands near Madagascar. The fruit of the trees can be up to 45-pounds or more. They take 30 years to bear fruit, which then takes an additional 6 years to mature. The Palm can reach around 100 feet tall, with leaves spreading 40 feet in length.
