The greyhound is the fastest breed of all the dogs,however the red fox is the fastest of the canines, they can run up to 48 mph at tops.

Consolidating the fastest canine breeds is a difficult task, a red fox isn't 48 mph it's 41-44, whilst a greyhound is 45 mph which leaves the fastest canine; The Maned Wolf, which is approxamately 49-51 mph. Maned wolves are much larger than greyhounds, greyhounds can attain a body length of around 3 ft 7-4ft 5, whilst maned wolves can stand 6'4.5 upringht on their hind legs, and have legs as long as 40 inches. It's believed that the legs of the maned wolf is the longest of any canine, and their legs are somewhat slim like the greyhound, yet also longer than the greyhounds 32 inch legs. In summation, maned wolves are the fastest canines as they have extremely long legs aswell as a long body which makes it's stride longer.
