The largest airport in the world in terms of square footage is the King Fahd International Airport in Damman, Saudi Arabia. It covers 485 square miles!

In terms of number of passengers, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport in Atlanta, Georgia is the largest/busiest in the world. It served 92 million passengers in 2011 alone. But it likely won't hold that title for long. When the Dubai World Central Al Maktoum International airport finishes its reconstruction in 2017, it will be able to accomodate 120 million passengers a year. Right now they claim the largest airport terminal in the world. Emirates Airline's Terminal 3 is 16.1 million sq ft and is currently listed as the largest building in the world in terms of square footage.
