Take the total of all the numbers and divide it by the total number of numbers. If you have the numbers 1,2,3,4, and 5, you would add them together and get 15, then divide by 5 (the number of numbers) to get 3.

You'll need to determine the percentage from there. So, in order for there to be a percentage, you'd need three out of (some number). Let's pretend these are the results of a five-question test. You have a mean score of 3, therefore divide that by the total (3/5) and multiply by 100 to get the percentage. The average percentage is 60%.

You can also convert all of the scores to percentages before calculating the mean, which will give you the same result.

To compute the mean you add all of the values together, and then divide by the number of numbers.

For example, for the set of 1,2,3,4,5 we the mean is (1+2+3+4+5)/5 = 3.

If you do this for a set of percentage scores, then you have the mean percentage score.

If you are starting with a set of fractions, then convert them to percentages first. For example, if Tim got 3 answers out of 5 correct and Tammy got 5 out of 5, then 3/5 = 0.6 and 5/5 = 1, which is 60% and 100%. (0.6+1)/2 = 0.8, or an average of 80%.
