An independent variable is the variable you can change in an experiment. On a graph, it's on the X-axis. A dependent variable is the result of changing the independent variable. It is literally dependent on it. The dependent variable goes on the Y-axis.

In science, an independent variable is the factor that is changed in an experiment. The dependent variable is the variable that is measured in an experiment. For instance, if you are investigating the effect of temperature on the rate of a reaction, the temperature is the independent variable, and the rate is the dependent variable.

An independent variable is a variable that is controlled by you. For instance, if you were doing an experiment to she which liquid makes plants grow faster, you could choose coke, Sprite, water, and lemonade. Those would be your independent variables. The height the plant grew after using each substance individually would be your dependent variable, because it is DEPENDENT on the chemicals in the substance to make it grow. The independent variable is controlled by the experimenter and is not the result of the lab.

let us consider y=x+2 , here y is depend on x so the y is dependent variable and x is independent variable because it is not dependent on anyone.

The independent variable is the variable that is altered by the scientist, and the dependent variable's value is dependent on the value of the independent variable.

Which variable is independent and which variable is dependent?

What causes change in a dependent variable?

The dependent variable is dependent on the independent variable, so when the independent variable changes, so does the dependent variable.

What is the dependent and independent in a experiment?

The independent variable of an experiment is the variable that you change, and the dependent variable is the result of the independent variable.

Does the independent or dependent variable change?

The Independent variable is the one you control. The dependent variable is controlled by the Independent Variable.

Independent and dependent variable?

Math: Independent variable is what you change. Dependent variable is what you measure.

How does the independent variable affects the dependent?

the dependent variable changes based on the independent variable

What are the differences between independent and dependent variables?

An independent variable is the variable you can change in an experiment. On a graph, it's on the X-axis. A dependent variable is the result of changing the independent variable. It is literally dependent on it. The dependent variable goes on the Y-axis.

is dependent on the independent variable

Manipulated independent variable?

The manipulated/independent variable is a variable that changes and it is what the responding/dependent variable change because of the manipulated variable.

Does the independent variable affect the dependent variable?

yes, because dependent variable is made by independent variable

Independent vs dependent variables?

Free from outside control means Independent . While dependent Is opposite.
