Best Answer

If that were x^2 - 3x - 4, it would be (x + 1)(x - 4)

As it is, it doesn't factor neatly. Applying the quadratic formula, we find two real solutions. (3 plus or minus the square root of 41) divided by two.

x = 2.350781059358212

x = -0.8507810593582121

You have : 2x^2 - 3x -4 . This equation can't be factored using normal means of factoring. The 2 with the x^2 is the big problem for getting the equation into a normal factored form.
