Whenever you multiply a negative number by a positive number, you get a negative number. If you multiply two negative numbers together, you get a positive number.

Therefore...

3 x 5 = 15

-3 x 5 = -15

-3 x -5 = 15

How do you find the negative multiple of a number?

If you have a list of numbers, some positive some negative, and want to multiply them together, first just multiply them without regard to the sign. Then if the number of negatives is odd put a negative sign in front of the answer while if it is even don't do anything. So, for example, (-3)*(-4)*(2)*(-5) then 3*4*2*5 = 120 there are three negative numbers (odd) so the answer is -120 or (3)*(-4)*(2)*(-5) again 3*4*2*5 = 120 there are two negative numbers (even) so do nothing: the answer is 120
