To find the density of and object we must first know both its mass and its volume, then density can be calculated using the formula d=m/v.

In this case we do not know the volume but we do know the object's length, bredth and height. The volume can then be be calculated using the formula V= l*b*h

This gives a volume of 18 cm3.

Using the following information we can now calculate the object's density.

m=36

v=18

36/18=2

Density= 2 g/cm3 (grams per cubic centimetre)
