What percentage of people born in 1937 are still alive?

Most students in my high school senior class were born in 1937. As best we can tell from reunion records 64 out of 279 have died, and that would be about 23%. We do not have a record of every graduate so I will adjust to an estimated 25% deaths out of 279. Does anyone know how this compares with the general population? All students were white and it was about equal male/female. Middle to lower economic group.
