Best Answer

A gallon is about 4 liters (~=3.79 liters).

A kiloliter is 1000 liters.

1000 Liters >> (much greater) 4 liters

Therefore, a kL is much greater than a gallon.

When trying to visualize how much volume a liter has, just remember those bigger bottles of soda are 1 or 2 liters (depending on where you live). It gives you some kind of visual comparison.

There are around 3.5liters per gallon, but the problem is which gallon?

1 liter is the volume made by a cube of 10cm x 10 cm x 10 cm, regardless of where you are - even on the moon.

If you are comparing gallons with litres then the answer depends on how many gallons and how many litres.

But one gallon is bigger than one litre.
