You asked about deaths ON an airplane. Well it so happens that during the weekend of 23-24 Feb 2008, a woman passenger died on a commercial flight. Flight attendants and doctors attempted to revive her but did not succeed.
There are a never ending amount of ways a person could die in an aeroplane or in any other kind of situation. There is no definitive number that can answer your question exactly, but with some logical thinking and common sense you can figure out hundreds of ways.
