Early forms of money included coins. The coins were made from metals available in those ages.
Japan's coins are denominated in yen and sen; there's no coin called a quarter.
Please post a new and separate question with more information that might help to ID the coin. Note that anything with such a new date is unlikely to be worth more than face value.
An 1897 dime from hong kong is worth at least $2.43 today.I hope that helped.
Between $1 and $4.40, depending on the wear.
The worth of a well-worn 1920 rupee coin is about $10, while a rupee in good condition can fetch $100. If the coin was never in circulation, expect it to have a value of $600 or more.
$0.00 USD.
The 20 Pence coin was not introduced into the currency until 1982.
One Hong Kong dollar is equal to about 12.5 US cents, so 20 HK cents would be two and one half US cents.
You are refering to a 1/4 Anna coin from British-controlled India (KM# 512). It is made of Bronze and weighs 4.86 grams. Its value depends on its condition and, to a lesser extent, its mintmark. Coins made at the Bombay mint have a small dot (I think beneath the portrait of King George V, although it may be just below the date), while those made at the Calcutta mint do not. The Bombay issue (of which 12,440,000 were produced in 1927) is worth US$0.25-US$0.75 in circulated condition, and the Calcutta issue (of which 6,925,000 were produced) about double that. In Uncirculated condition, the Bombay issue will garner about US$3.50, while the Calcutta issue is worth about a dollar more. Both mints issued proof coins (worth about US$120 each, according to the Standard Catalog of World Coins), and the Bombay mint also issued a Proof-like restrike, worth about US$80.00 (although I'm not sure how to tell it from the original proof issue).
There were many variations in Rupees from 1918.
Proofs can go up to $1990.
A regular Rupee, though, is worth between $12 and $38. Please add a condition of the coin next time so I can value it more precisely for you.
The values depend on the dates of the sets, include dates and post new question.
On an eBay site I have seen an 1862 Queen Empress One Rupee offered for $1,250.00 (I think this was Australian dollars but can't be sure.
There is about 5 on EBay right now. $39.

With a mintage of 75 million it may be worth about .10 with heavy wear to around .15 with moderate wear to maybe .25 with light wear to perhaps $5 if uncirculated. You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info.
A 1988 Gold $5.00 coin may carry two different mint marks: 'W' or 'P.' Assuming the 'W' coin has remained in uncirculated condition (MS-65), its value is: $210; the 'P' coin was minted in proof condition (PF-65) and its value is: $110.00.
Nobody could afford to make gold 50 cent coins, your coin is nickel-brass.
A Hong Kong 1979 Fifty cent coin, uncirculated and in absolute mint condition could fetch up to $1 USD. If it has been circulated but still in good condition, it might fetch anything from $0.20 to $0.50 USD.
A reputable coin dealer will be able to give a more accurate valuation.
