What is the average cost for masters in nursing?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

There are no standard tuition and fee rates for colleges and universities. Each institution will have rates particular to itself. There are a number of variables to consider to include whether the institution is public or private, the geographical location, the specific program of study (some of which have greater course and/or clinical fees), and whether the school is a two year or four year institution. Once you collect the names of some colleges and universities you have an interest in, you can then research the cost specific to those institutions.

Which college has the highest tution in the US?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I'm not sure which one exactly is the most expensive, but it will really depend on if you live in the state that the school is in. Out of state tuitions can jump even state run colleges over the price of private ones in the state where you reside. And as a humorous footnote, the U.S. military academies are notoriously expensive to "pay back" if you fail to obligate yourself afterwards for military service.

What is the cheapest college in the US?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

There are many good small colleges in the United States, but it can be a challenge to find good information about them. Some of the best small colleges are a particular type of liberal arts college called a Great Books college, which follow a rigorous core curriculum of original texts. Because of the intense, demanding nature of Great Books study, graduates of these schools succeed in graduate education at rates unparalleled by institutions with more conventional curricula.

Small colleges with rigorous curricula include:

- Shimer College in Chicago, enrollment ~ 100

- St. John's College in Annapolis and Santa Fe, enrollment ~ 900 across 2 campuses

- Gutenberg College in Oregon, enrollment ~ 50

What is 12 semester hours?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Credit hour is the unit by which an institution measures its course work. The number of credit hours assigned to a course quantitatively reflectsthe outcomes expected, the mode of instruction, the amount of time spent in class, and the amount of outside preparatory work expected for the class.

Considerable variation exists from institution to institution and within a given institution. A semester credit hour is the most commonly used system of measuring course work and is usually based on at least a 14-17 week calendar.1 Further, a class hour varies from 45 to 60 minutes in various institutions. Many of the definitions refer to weekly student class hours.

Most faculties adopt a consistent measure within guidelines for their institution's course offerings. These consistencies have made it possible for accrediting groups to compare programs at multiple institutions. They make the handling of transfer credit from institution to institution reasonably systematic. They make it possible that institutions can issue "transcripts that follow commonly accepted practices and accurately reflect a student's academic experience" as required by Criterion 5 of the North Central Association's Criteria for Accreditation (Adopted February 2001). Further, prospective students can make meaningful comparisons between institutions and academic programs. Additionally, federal and state reporting requirements can be analyzed, achieved, and communicated.
