First of all, it is entirely opinion. Calgary and Edmonton have a running thing going, where apparently "all" people from Calgary hate Edmonton, and vice versa. Which isn't actually true, for the most part. This probably mostly comes from hockey. Most Calgarians are extremely defensive of their team, the Calgary Flames, and tend to often dislike opposition. Edmonton's team, The Oilers, is certainly Calgary's least favourite team. Why, I am not sure. If you go into Chinook mall, many T-shirts with the oilers logo are available, except they say "Losers" in the middle.Calgary is larger and has a stronger economy.
Let's see there are cleaning staff and desk personel in your local motel, the cheap ones. In the more fancy high dollar hotels you also have a maintenance crew, cooks, wait staff, bartenders, bar musicians, door persons and an IT department. In some of the really fancy ones you also have a security department. There are a lot more jobs once you get into the casino/hotels.
No, the Lego store is located in Southgate mall.
It depends on how many connections and lay overs you might have as there seems to be no direct flight. The time would range anywhere from 10 to 13 hours.

I'm guessing it was like other HBC trading Forts which means everything. It was the Super Store of the day. Of course you could get guns and everything for guns, as well as axes, knifes, traps, hinges, door latches, kettles, pots, pans, and anything else made of metal you might want but you could also get spices, flour, and other food not locally available. Clothing, blankets, books, tobacco, medicine, anything that traded well was stocked.
And anything you could think of could be ordered. Lets say you want to hold a big party, you could order a piano, likely even someone to play it. Of course they are not going to show up for a year or more but you could order it.
