This is not the easiest job you can tackle, but you CAN do it. But unless you're highly intuitive, or have done some mechanic work, it'll beat you. THE BEST WAY TO START is to buy a repair manual for your model car. I like the Chilton's version, but there are others. Haynes comes to mind. I bought a Chilton's through Amazon.com for my '89 Geo Metro. Under $15, and the best investment you'll make. I won't go further. I personally would not tackle it without a manual. Good luck (I have to do the same thing on both doors of my 2000 Camaro SS, and I'm dreading it.)
Both of those codes indicate the vehicle is running too lean. Most often this is caused by a dirty mass air flow sensor, located in the tube coming from your air cleaner. Cleaning with brake cleaner or electronics cleaner usually fixes it.
Check Owner's Manual.
If you do not have one.

drivers side mid way back next to the support rail. Its rough getting to.
I didn't find it rough it's about a 3 minute job. The fuel filter is under the rear drivers door near the frame rail. There is a black plastic cover over the gas tank with an access door near the frame rail pull the door towards the frame rail it will pop off then it's two clips on the filter to change.
The newest Lincoln TV spot, featuring Shiny Toy Guns sparkling new cover of the classic “Major Tom” (originally recorded in the mid-80s by Peter Schilling, it was a retelling of David Bowie’s classic 1969 song “Space Oddity”.) http://shinytoyguns.com/news/major-tom/
Cat Power ::?Ground Control (David Bowie Cover Album)
?
The song in the Lincoln Commercial is Major Tom by Peter Schilling. It was covered by 'The Space Lady' in the 80s.It is attached to the backside of the headlight switch. If you look up under the dashboard at the headlight switch you should be able to see the fuses.
There is a clip that can be removed, then it can be pulled off the side of the switch, however the easiest method is to remove the entire switch.
With one hand reach up under the dash, and follow the switch to where it meets the dashboard. You should on one side find a small metal button. Push that button in while pulling on the headlight switch knob and the knob should pull out of the dash. Then unscrew the trim bezel for the switch and remove the switch from under the dash. Now you should be able to easily access the fuses.
If you are talking about the one that pops out of your steeringwheel then try pressing the horn really hard to try and fix it because it might just be a very small gap between the cover and the sensor for your air bag
AnswerIt is a possibilty that your alternator belt is loose and or the alternator is going bad. Check to see if the belt is bad or worn. Sometimes that is the problem before running the battery down.
When I installed an after market stereo, I started my truck (03 Frontier, V6) with the connections to the center console DISCONNECTED. My airbag light came on. I later read not to cycle the ignition switch while the cig lighter, hazard button, pass airbag switch is disconnected. I can only hope/ assume the airbags will deploy if the time comes?
This is normal for Navigator, the radio will play, and the windows will run up and down for up to 5 minutes after the ignition is turned off. Just open the drivers door to over ride it. They do that so if you listening to a radio program you can hear the end without having the car running. Most newer Lincolns do this.
A leaking heater core. oil is leaking on the engine and is burning and beining drawn in by the vent or the blower motor is going out Are you sure it's smoke or is it steam? If your windows are steaming up and it smells like maple syrup , your heater core is probably leaking.
Not sure if it's the same as the 1996 Jeep, but here are it's instructions.
It's pretty easy. To help clarify I'm going to number the buttons 1, 2, and 3 where 1 is the button on the outside, close to the door, and 3 is the button on the inside.
Setting a button:
1.) Hold down the desired button and the LED will start to flash slowly (if it is solid this means that it has already been programmed and you must do a reset to program or select a different button).
2.) Continue to hold the desired button and then hold the garage door opener close to the visor and hold down it's button. You know the visor is programmed when it changes from a slow flash to a fast one.
3.) Release the buttons and test it out.
*** For rolling code garage door openers follow additional steps below***
After you have trained the jeep remote as stated above, you will notice pressing the button you have programed does nothing if you have a rolling code garage door opener.
4.) Press the learn button on your garage door opener (usually only have 30 seconds) and run back to the car and hold the button you programed for 2 seconds and then release. Now, repeat the "press/hold/release" sequence a second time, and, depending on the brand of the garage door opener (or other rolling code equipped device), repeat this sequence a third time to complete the programming.
Resetting the visor controls:
1.) Hold down buttons 1 and 3, for about 15 seconds, until the red LED starts to flash. Remember that this will reset all 3 buttons.
Hope this helps.
they are both on the exhaust after the cat and are both pretty easy to get to

On a 1998 Lincoln Navigator :
Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine
Bank 2 is the drivers side of the engine
Sensor 1 on both sides is closest to the engine ( upstream sensors used to help adjust the fuel ratio )
Sensor 2 on both sides is in the exhaust AFTER the catalytic converters ( downstream sensors , also called catalyst monitors )
The fuse panel which contains fuses and circuit breakers is located behind the glove box door Additional fuses are in the power distribution center located near the left side strut tower in the engine compartment
the antenna is in the right rear side glass.
Hello: You must first remove the battery. There is a clip on the front side of the battery that holds the bottom rim of the battery down. Unscrew the nut, remove the clip and slide the battery up and out. (First disconnect the cables) Then, there are four clips that hold the lid of the air cleaner compartment to the base. Unsnap these and the top comes off. Careful, the clips can fall off and are hard to reistall. Remove the old filter, and clean out the compartment, remove dust and dirt, and install new filter. Reverse the above steps and you are done.
If you ran at 5 mph for 30 minutes, you'd have covered 2 1/2 miles. At 5 mph, you'll cover 5 miles in one hour. The 30 minutes is half an hour, and half of 5 miles is 2 1/2 miles.
Under the hood in the aux relay box number 1, it will be marked C1008 and its the larger of the two relays on the left side of the box........
On a 2000 Lincoln Navigator :
Bank 2 is the drivers side of the engine
Sensor 1 would be close to the engine before the exhaust enter the catalytic converter ( upstream sensor )
Sensor 2 ( downstream sensor ) would be in the exhaust after the exhaust exits the catalytic converter
It may be the blend door actuator. This part starting making a clicking sound in my 2003 Lincoln Navigator. It is located in the back right panel next to the rear seat. When I removed the actuator and opened it up, I found that one of the gears was partially stripped.
According to the ( 1998 ) Lincoln Navigator Owner Guide :
With engine oil filter change :
( 5.7 litres / 6.0 U.S. quarts of 5W-30 engine oil )
Hi. What icon (!) on a panel or computer message TIRE PRESSURE TO LOW?
This is from memory only. The car is not here, so I can't look to refresh my memory. As I remember, look for the large air tube that goes from the filter to the engine throttle body. There is a sensor in the tube with wires going to it. Disconnect it or remove the sensor. Be careful not to damage the wires or sensor. Disconnect the clamp holding the air tube to the throttle body and pull the tube off. Look for two plastic tabs holding the other end of the tube into the air filter box. Squeze them in toward the tube while pulling the tube back out of the box. Pull the old filter out of the box and replace it with your new filter. Push the tube back int the new filter, hook everything back up and you're done.
