Asked by Wiki User

Haha!

Well Honestly, I don't know why, but I have caught myself eating paper and cardboard all the time.

I am 14 years old, and I haven't really seen any side affects.

My friends are always asking

"WHY ARE YOU EATING THAT PIECE OF PAPER?!"

And Honestly I couldn't tell them why.

^_^!

My point is....

No.

I don't think it is dangerous to eat paper.

Maybe if you eat a notebook.

There are dyes in paper, but I don't think there is enough to make you sick.

I actually looked at your question because I started eating a piece of paper and thought about it.

I HOPE I HELPED!!

Is talc powder harmful?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Talc is a mineral based powder. It can irritate the lungs if inhaled, and of course can be quite dangerous if inhaled in quantity. There don't seem to be long term health problems documented, as with asbestos. The lungs do seem to be able to eliminate it. So, as long as you can use it externally without inhaling a noticeable amount, it seems to be safe. With a baby, you will want to apply it carefully, so as to avoid allowing the dust to become airborne as much as possible. We would sometimes lay a washcloth or some such over our babies' mouths to act as an air filter.

Can you get constipated from eating cornstarch?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I'm sure too much of it isn't a good thing but I dont think it will constipate you. It is refined and broken down in the process that it would dilute with your stomach acids. Usually constipation is because of not enough fruits and vegetables. Too much cheese and peanut butter are sometimes the culprits, too. If you eat a balanced diet, a little of everything, then you should not have any problems. Keep track of what you eat for a week and see where the overages or absences are. Go to the library to get a book about balancing meals. Talk to your doctor and bring the food log. P.S. some vitamins can clog you, too.

Can eating just plain flour or chalk hurt you at all?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I must say that I disagree...I have eaten flour for the past 2 1/2 years. I was diagnosed with a pica disorder and I can honestly say that eating it on a daily basis does wreak havoc on your body. It can cause extreme weight loss and weight gain. It ruins your teeth, because it sets like a paste, regardless of how well you brush your teeth. It causes frequent yeast infections and if you have diabetes, it can run your sugar so high, you can kill yourself. Ive always been anemic, but after eating the flour for so long, I became severly anemic and had to have a blood transfusion 5 months ago. I was told that I was very close to suffering a stroke or even a heart attack, at the age of 31, and prayed to stop eating flour because i felt as though i couldn't stop on my own qnd i knew that eventually i would kill myself. I stopped for about 2 or 3 months and im back at it again, its not something that i want to do because i do value my life, its just that the flour is so addictive. Doctors claim that they cant really help, or so they say they cant...im at my witts end, I NEED HELP!!! Just so you know- EATING FLOUR IS VERY HARMFUL TO YOUR HEALTH...

Answerif you mean flour from the store out of the package, then no, it won't do a bit of harm aside from leaving you with a dry nasty taste in your mouth.

Can eating baking soda affect you while pregnant?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Baking soda is a really bad pregnancy craving of mine along with that of "crushed" ice or any ice for that matter. I asked my doctor about it and although it is not healthy it is common. For 9 months of my pregnancy with my now 2 year old daughter I ate baking soda and she came out fine. Not I'm 35 weeks pregnant with my son and I've been eating baking soda and the doctor says he's fine as well. My only problem is that I do have high blood pressure if I do not drink enough ice water in between the cravings for baking soda.

Eating baking soda may also be a sign of an Iron Deficiency.

Cornstarch is messy and can cause anemia and constipation. Try eating"Crayola Side Walk Chalk" it taste better and is not messy. Chalk has the same starchy taste but better. VIDEO Starch Eater:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=20QiqRVLkpM

do you guys have anything better to do than to worry about the delectableness of cornstarch? every one knows that it's good, but it may not be good for you. to me, it's harmless, because I've never tried it before.

Answereating cornstarch is VERY harmful. so why don't you all just become vegans or say "no" to teenage driving or something. AnswerEatting Cornstarch: wow!!! there's a lot of us out there. It does taste good, however. Eatting large amounts as we do, 1-2 or more boxes can cause iron deficentcy or the problem is, you are (as I am) anemica. You really should get your iron level checked. I had to have surgery, and because my count was so low, they were talking a blood transfusion. Please, have your iron leveles checked. Shortness of breath? It not because you are out of shape, or older either, with low iron level the proper amount of iron isn't getting to your blood. Also, you could, as I have an inherdity blood condition that makes me anemic by natural, which could be why we crave the cornstarch. AnswerI have been eating corn starch for several years. It's sooooooooo good and I just cant stop eating it! I used to eat argo then hodgsonmills and now im stuck on clabbergirl. I use the hodgson mill one by putting a lot in my mouth and then blow it and chew it because its so crunchy and good. I used to not be able to swallow cornstach but now i can and its so googd! especially the clabbergirl!!!one Tim i went to the store and i got 3 cans and they were gone in 4 days. I cant stop and i don't want help!!!........................at least not now!!! AnswerI'am 40 years old I have been eating cornstarch for 5 years. AnswerCorn starch is a food, eaten in small quantities it should be harmless. Large amounts would carry the same risks associated with eating a lot of any high calorie food. Diabetics should minimize their intake of all starch based foods. RE: "Can eating pure cornstarch kill youNo. As a product of maize, a commonly eaten grain product, cornstarch is 100 percent natural and safe. AnswerUnless you are allergic to cornstarch, there aren't any dangers to speak of. Cornstarch is used in many recipes as a thickening agent. Unlike flour, it is tasteless and turns from white to clear as it thickens. It is used in gravies, jellies, pies, etc. AnswerWell, being that I am a long-term cornstarch eater, I have never had to be hospitalized, the most uncomfortable feeling I have experienced is eating too much, along with soda, before going to sleep. One thing I have noticed is that no matter how much I eat, since it has no nutritional value, my body still craves normal foods. AnswerToo much of anything, even a good thing, can be harmful to your body. Craving large amounts of cornstarch is an indication of a problem that you need to talk to your doctor about, it is called Amylophagia.

Additional Informational: In a recent medical journal the craving for cornstarch, laundry starch, or the urge to chew ice, and several other cravings for peculiar substances often signal a deficiency of iron or zinc. This needs to be investigated by your Drs. Your Dr. should do blood work to check for anemia, and if you are anemic insist on exploring the root causes. There is a link indicated between the cravings, mineral deficiencies, anemia, and colon cancer/ cancers. This doesn't mean that everyone with these craving has cancer, just that you need to have your Dr. run some tests to find the root causes of them, so you can rule out any concerns about your health.

Might not be cancer... I have ulcerative colitis which also causes anemia. My doctor said the cornstarch won't harm me and it's much better for me than the sand on the beach I used to eat!!

Cor starch is the most delicious thing that they ever made on the planet earth. LOL but if you eat it then it is very good join the club because it is growing every day.

corn starch is very nasty. it makes you have a dry mouth. yuuuccckkk

Can you get sick from eating bad bananas?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Green bananas are safe to eat. They contain resistant starch which is helpful for people controlling their blood sugar, because resistant starch has less effect on blood glucose levels. The way to eat them is to cook them. Slice them or cut them like fries and fry them in butter until browned.

Green Bananas are very good for health, even better than the yellow ones, some studies say.The incidence of Irritable bowel diseases/cancers is lower in places where people consume more green bananas than yellow.

What will you get if you eat raw rice?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Consuming raw rice is unsafe and poses several health concerns, such as food poisoning from B. cereus and damage to your digestive tract.

A desire to consume raw rice or other non-nutritive foods could be an underlying sign of pica, which is a psychological disorder that has been associated with hair loss, fatigue, stomach pain, and iron deficiency anemia.

Moreover, raw rice isn’t more nutritious than cooked rice. If you would simply like a healthier rice option, try switching to brown, black, red, or wild rice.

Can a dad with B blood have an o- child?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Yes.

Everyone has two genes actually for blood type, but only the dominant one is expressed.

A and B are dominant over O.

Thus, if you are AA or AO, your blood type is A. If you are BB or BO, your blood type is B.

Because A and B are coequal, if your genes are AB, then your blood type is the (rare) type AB.

The only way you can be blood type O is if you have OO.

If a parent with the genes AO (blood type A) has a child with someone with the genes BO (blood type B), then the baby could get one O from each parent and thus be OO.
