Not calculus. In the case of having a plus sign in front of a minus sign, the result is to subtract the number. The same goes for if you have a minus sign in front of a plus sign. Remember that if the signs are different, the result will be a subtraction, if the signs are the same, it will be an addition (ie a double negative (- -), or a double positive(+ +)). So this question, 26 + -3 -11 is the same as 26 -3 -11, so will equal 12.
