Unfortunately the Grand Trunk Western and Soo Line are no longer independently operated, both having been merged into other railroads. The GTW (Grand Trunk Western) was taken over by Canadian National and the Soo became wholly owned by Canadian Pacific in 1992. An interesting note, the Grand Trunk Corporation was setup by CN to operate the carrier's US affiliations which includes names like GTW itself, Illinois Central, Wisconsin Central, Bessemer & Lake Erie, and Duluth, Missabe and Iron Range.
