There are at least 4 dimensions in the universe - 3 space dimensions (length, breadth, depth), and one time dimension.

Beyond this, no one is really sure.

Some current theoretical physics models contain higher dimensions than this. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/String_theory

There are many different versions of String theory, however - some with more dimensions. One type known as M-theory ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-theory ) has eleven space dimensions and one time, for a total of 12.

However, the universe is thought to be so narrow across these extra dimensions that for all practical purposes there are really only 4 we have to consider.

Does 4D exist OR is 3D the limit of Dimensions?

Mathematically, you can have as many dimensions as you want. Our "real world" seems to have only 3 dimensions. While there are speculations that other universes - or parts of our Universe - may have more or less dimensions, for now, these are just speculations. According to string theory, our Universe actually has 10 or 11 dimensions, but only 3 of those appear on a large scale - the others will only have an effect on very, very tiny scales.

Is there a possibility that wormholes and black holes are gateways to other dimensions in this universe?

Yes, it's possible but we really just don't know.

Do higher dimensions exist in the universe?

The existence of higher dimensions in the universe is a topic of debate among scientists. Some theories, such as string theory, suggest the possibility of extra dimensions beyond the three spatial dimensions we experience. However, these higher dimensions have not been directly observed or proven, so their existence remains speculative.

Are there more than 3 dimensions in the universe?

Yes, according to current scientific theories, there are more than 3 dimensions in the universe. Some theories suggest there may be up to 11 dimensions, with the extra dimensions beyond the familiar three spatial dimensions and one time dimension being compactified or hidden from our everyday perception.

The universe is speeding up due to what they think as other dimensions soaking up the gravity what if these other dimensions are in the minds of ever more evolving life forms throughout the universe?

Because question is about "what they think" and "what if" they is no right or wrong answer, and ultimately there is NO answer.I think they are wrong, you and others may thinkthey are right. That is why there is Science Fiction, to make up stories that are interesting but fictional.

The expanding universe has been described as a balloon that is stretching outward. If that is so is the inside of the universe a hollow filled with invisible energy?

The "balloon" is just a rough analogy; the balloon surface is 2-dimensional, our Universe has 3 dimensions (3 spacial dimensions). In the balloon, there is a curvature towards a third dimension. It is not clear whether such additional dimensions (beyond the third dimension) make any physical sense in our Universe.
