Strange how Friday's seem to get extra attention. Black Friday refers to the shopping holiday, thanks in part to retailers, going "black" in accounting terms (meaning they now make profit for the holiday season on the much celebrated shopping day). Because people want Jason, if they replaced him with his mother it would probably flop like Halloween 3, the people who make these aren't stupid, they know what sells.
Why wouldn't they make Friday the 13th part 2?
Well the remake was pretty much a bust. Fans didn't really like it, and it didn't make anywhere near what they expected it would. Give it a year or so and I'm sure they will though.
