That depends on the rules for that particular test. Some tests are "open-book" tests,
and others are not.
Open-book tests are usually a lot harder. We always preferred a closed-book test,
where you had to study the stuff before the test and know it when you go in. That
kind of test is always easier, and plus, there's a chance you'll still know the stuff
and be able to use it after the test is over ! How cool is that !
