Thia dome light comes in assembly and more than likely you need to replace it....
Bring it to the dealer
This is from a 2001 Chevrolet Tracker owners Manual Dome Lamp 1. Gently pry the dome lamp lens from the lamp assembly using a screwdriver. 2. Remove the bulb by gently opening the retaining clip and sliding the bulb out. 3. Insert a new bulb. Make sure that it is seated properly. 4. Snap the dome lamp lens back into the dome lamp assembly.
The dome assembly is held on by four clips, just take a firm grip and pull down. This will get it ready to pull out. There are two black tabs on the side facing the rear, you will need to pull the assembly towards the front windshield. Disconnect the three wires and its down. NOTE: To disconnect the two outer light wires, i had to unscrew the center switch assembly.
I'm assuming that you mean the dome light... Without the exact make, model and year of the vehicle, I can only give a general answer. Check your owner's manual for dome light replacement instructions and illustrations - most will have them. See sources and related links below for dome light bulb information.
It's probably the switch. Take out the dome light assembly and use your circuit tester to test it. Replace or repair. I've had this happen twice so far. I think if you leave your dome light it causes problems because it gets really hot!
